Five Steps to Save on Electricity

power linesWe all want to save money on one of our most expensive monthly bills:  our electric bill.  And while many of us remember to turn off the lights when we leave a room, we may not think about other ways that we can save a considerable amount of energy and money.  Many of these steps seem like common sense, but many of us simply don’t think about doing them day to day.

1.  Don’t even turn it on.

Many of us are lucky, and live in areas that are pretty moderate, in terms of temperature.  If that is the case, we can really forego the air conditioning and heating during quite a few more moderate months.  By leaving these off, we can save a ton.  Consider using fans or space heaters instead, and leave off those central units altogether.
